Pastor Alton and Becky Stone,

Tenure Pastor of the Union Church of God |
Alton
Stone, Jr., born September 1, 1953, has
been active in ministry from birth. His parents, the late Alton
Sr., and Mary Stone, served as pastors across the United States for the
majority of Pastor Stone's life, including his childhood.
Beginning in his teen years, Pastor began to travel as an evangelist,
preaching and teaching on God's Word.
Ministering across the state of South Carolina, he
would meet his wife, Becky Brigman, formerly of Hamer, SC. The
would become married on February 13, 1972 and begin ministry together as
husband and wife. As Pastor was serving as a youth minister, Becky
developed several physical problems and would have to have open heart
surgery at a young age in the mid 1970's. Being told that they
would never have a child, the Stone's continued to believe that "with
God all things are possible..." As doors began to open for Al and
Becky to walk through in ministry, they eventually had a son in 1979.
Feeling a change in ministry, Pastor left youth/associate work and began
full-time pastoral ministry. Pastor Stone has been in the pastoral
field for 28 years, and total ministry of 37 years experience.
Pastor has served on numerous local, state, and
national committees. He currently serves as
the Chairman of the Ordained Bishop Examining
Board, and has previously serverd a member of
the SC State Ordained Licensed Examining Board, state
Youth and Christian Education Boards, SC and
NC Music Committee, and formally as a member of the SC Assemblies of God
Presbytery Board. He majored in Christian Education at the Church of God
State Bible Institute and in Pastoral Studies through Berean Bible
College. He currently hold's a Master's Degree
in Christian Education from Andersonville Theological
Seminary and is currently pursuing his
Doctorate in Christian Education. In addition, he
serves as District Overseer
for the Union District in the Church of God in
South Carolina.

And the Stone's family continues to
grow today! Pastor and Becky's son, Shane married to his
sweetheart Candy, have three precious children, Hannah, Gracie, and
Hayden Colt. With the help of the
Church of God State Office and the great people of the Union Church of
God, Shane and Candy planted a church in March of 2007 in Spartanburg
called Ridge Pointe. It is with great anticipation and excitement
that the Stone's family continues to minister and lead people to Christ
through the knowledge of His Word! |
